Formula Used

  1. Required Set Area = (Total Formwork Area ÷ Reuse Cycles) × (1 + Waste %)
  2. Panels Needed = Ceiling(Required Set Area ÷ Coverage per Panel)
  3. All Daily Rental = Panels Needed × Daily Rate × Rental Days
  4. All Weekly Rental = Panels Needed × Ceiling(Rental Days ÷ 7) × Weekly Rate
  5. All Monthly Rental = Panels Needed × Ceiling(Rental Days ÷ 30) × Monthly Rate
  6. Best Billing Mix = Lowest-cost combination of daily, weekly, and monthly terms for one panel, multiplied by total panels
  7. Accessory Cost = Accessory Charge per Day × Rental Days
  8. Labor Cost = Labor Days × Labor Rate per Day
  9. Damage Allowance = Base Rental × Damage %
  10. Subtotal = Base Rental + Accessories + Labor + Delivery + Pickup + Damage Allowance
  11. Discount Amount = Subtotal × Discount %
  12. Tax Amount = (Subtotal − Discount Amount) × Tax %
  13. Grand Total = Subtotal − Discount Amount + Tax Amount

FAQs

What does this calculator estimate?

It estimates panel quantity, best rental billing mix, accessory charges, labor, logistics, damage allowance, discounts, taxes, and final concrete formwork rental cost.

Why do reuse cycles matter?

Reuse cycles reduce the panel set needed at one time. More planned reuses usually lower rented quantity, which can significantly reduce base rental cost.

How is the best billing mix chosen?

The calculator compares daily, weekly, and monthly terms and selects the lowest-cost combination for the entered rental duration instead of forcing one pricing method.

Can I include labor in the estimate?

Yes. Enter labor days and labor rate to include erection, stripping, resetting, or handling costs alongside the rented formwork estimate.

What should I enter for accessory rate?

Use the daily combined charge for ties, wedges, clamps, braces, corner pieces, or other rented accessories that are billed separately from the panels.

Does this work for wall, slab, and column forms?

Yes. Use the total contact area that needs forming. Adjust panel coverage and reuse cycles to match the form system and project sequence.

Should tax and discount be entered before or after delivery?

Enter all direct costs first. The calculator subtracts discount from subtotal, then applies tax to the discounted amount for a cleaner estimate.

Is this a final supplier quotation?

No. It is a planning tool. Supplier minimums, cleaning fees, idle charges, deposits, and contract terms can change the final invoice.
