Formula Used
U.S. Thanksgiving is calculated as the fourth Thursday of November. Canadian Thanksgiving is calculated as the second Monday of October. The calculator first finds the holiday date. Then it subtracts the start date and time from the target date and time.
Calendar days: target date minus start date.
Exact days: total seconds divided by 86,400.
Weeks: exact days divided by 7.
Hours: total seconds divided by 3,600.
Business days: weekdays between the two dates, excluding weekends.

Thanksgiving Countdown Guide
A Thanksgiving countdown helps you plan early. The holiday often connects meals, travel, shopping, school breaks, and family events. A simple day count is useful. A deeper count is better. This calculator shows calendar days, exact days, weeks, hours, minutes, seconds, and business days. It also supports different rules for the United States and Canada.
Why The Date Changes
Thanksgiving does not use one fixed calendar date. In the United States, it falls on the fourth Thursday of November. That means the date can move between November 22 and November 28. In Canada, it falls on the second Monday of October. This calculator finds the correct weekday pattern first. Then it compares that holiday with your chosen start date.
Better Planning With Date Options
The next holiday option is useful for quick planning. It automatically picks the coming Thanksgiving. The selected year option is useful for older dates, future schedules, content planning, and event records. You can also change the start time and target time. This helps when you need a precise countdown, not only a date difference.
Calendar Days And Workdays
Calendar days count every day on the calendar. Business days count Monday through Friday only. This difference matters for offices, shipping, campaigns, and deadlines. A store may need calendar days for promotions. A team may need business days for preparation. Both numbers are shown together, so you can compare them quickly.
Exporting Your Result
The CSV export is helpful for spreadsheets. The PDF export is helpful for sharing or printing. You can save the countdown for travel plans, menu schedules, grocery lists, school projects, or marketing calendars. Recalculate whenever your start date changes. The result updates instantly after submission and appears above the form.
