Formula Used

Peak Performance Score

Score = (0.15 × Energy) + (0.15 × Focus) + (0.14 × Deep Work) + (0.16 × Completion) + (0.10 × Productive Time) + (0.10 × Sleep) + (0.07 × Exercise) + (0.05 × Learning) + (0.04 × Distraction Control) + (0.04 × Stress Control)

Normalized Components

  • Energy = Energy Level × 10
  • Focus = Focus Level × 10
  • Deep Work = min(Deep Work Hours ÷ 4, 1) × 100
  • Completion = min(Completion %, 120) ÷ 120 × 100
  • Productive Time = min(Productive Hours ÷ 8, 1) × 100

Recovery and Friction Scores

  • Sleep = max(0, 100 − |Sleep Hours − 8| × 20)
  • Exercise = min(Exercise Minutes ÷ 45, 1) × 100
  • Learning = min(Learning Minutes ÷ 60, 1) × 100
  • Distraction Control = 100 − min(Distraction Minutes, 180) ÷ 180 × 100
  • Stress Control = 100 − ((Stress − 1) ÷ 9 × 100)

The model rewards consistent execution, strong focus, healthy recovery, and ongoing growth. It is intended for self-tracking and coaching, not clinical use.

FAQs

1. What does the peak performance score represent?

It summarizes how well your current habits and work patterns support effective career performance. The score combines focus, execution, recovery, and growth signals into one daily number.

2. Is a higher score always better?

Usually yes, but context matters. A very high score may still hide burnout risk if it depends on unsustainably long hours. Review recovery metrics alongside output.

3. Why is sleep included in a career tracker?

Sleep strongly affects attention, decision quality, mood, and stamina. Career performance is not only about effort; recovery often determines whether effort becomes useful output.

4. Why can completion exceed 100%?

Some days you finish more work than planned. The model allows limited upside so exceptional execution gets credit without letting task volume dominate the entire score.

5. How often should I use this calculator?

Daily use works best. Short daily entries help you spot trends, compare workdays, and identify whether dips come from focus, recovery, distractions, or workload design.

6. What is a good deep work ratio?

A higher ratio usually means more concentrated work. Many knowledge workers benefit when roughly 35% to 60% of productive time is true deep work.

7. Can this support coaching or performance reviews?

Yes. It can support self-reflection, coaching conversations, and habit reviews. It works best when paired with qualitative notes about deadlines, meetings, and workload changes.

8. Does this replace professional health advice?

No. This is a self-management tool for work habits and career planning. It does not diagnose stress, fatigue, sleep disorders, or any medical condition.
