| Scenario | Active MRR | New MRR | Expansion MRR | Churn MRR | Weighted Pipeline (Annual) | Influence |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Steady month | 48,500 | 4,200 | 1,100 | 1,600 | 120,000 | 15% |
| Pipeline push | 48,500 | 2,500 | 900 | 1,200 | 260,000 | 20% |
| Churn risk | 48,500 | 3,000 | 700 | 3,500 | 90,000 | 10% |
Monthly Run Rate = (Revenue So Far ÷ Days Elapsed) × Days In Month
Use this when revenue is paced daily and collections reflect delivery.
Net MRR = Active MRR + New MRR + Expansion MRR + Pipeline MRR Add − Churn MRR
Pipeline MRR Add = (Weighted Pipeline × Influence%) ÷ 12
Use this for subscription models. Keep pipeline influence conservative.
Conservative Value = Estimate × (1 − Haircut%)
It is an estimate of what your month would deliver if current pace continues. It converts partial-month revenue signals into a full-month projection.
Use it when revenue is collected steadily during the month and early results represent delivery pace. Avoid it for lumpy invoices or end-of-month billing.
Use it when revenue is primarily recurring. It combines active recurring revenue with expected adds, expansions, and churn to estimate a realistic monthly run rate.
Forecasts often miss due to slippage, payment delays, and churn surprises. A haircut builds a safety buffer so targets and staffing decisions rely on tighter assumptions.
Pipeline is optional. If included, keep influence low and avoid double counting deals already in “expected new MRR.” Treat it as a light sensitivity input.
Include it only when you need a blended monthly view. For recurring performance reporting, exclude one-time revenue to prevent overstating recurring momentum.
Update inputs weekly, segment churn risk by account health, and track forecast error. Use the conservative estimate for planning, and keep a notes log per adjustment.
