Item Revenue = Unit Sale Price × Quantity
Gross Customer Paid = Item Revenue + Shipping Charged + Gift Wrap + Sales Tax Collected
Seller Revenue Base = Item Revenue + Shipping Charged + Gift Wrap − Seller Discount − Refunds
Commission Fee = (Item Revenue × Commission Rate) + Fixed Commission
Payment Fee = (Gross Customer Paid × Processing Rate) + Processing Fixed Fee
Tax on Marketplace Fees = (Commission Fee + Payment Fee + Listing Fee + Subscription Allocation + COD Fee) × Fee Tax Rate
Withholding Tax = Seller Revenue Base × Withholding Tax Rate
Payable Before Reserve = Seller Revenue Base − All Marketplace Deductions Before Reserve
Reserve Hold = Positive Payable Before Reserve × Reserve Rate
Current Payout = Payable Before Reserve − Reserve Hold
Net Profit After Inventory Cost = Current Payout − (Inventory Cost Per Unit × Quantity)
Current payout is the estimated amount the marketplace can release now. It subtracts fees, taxes, shipping, discounts, refunds, and reserve holds from seller revenue base.
Many marketplaces collect or remit tax separately. The calculator includes it in customer payment totals, but excludes it from seller revenue base unless you intentionally model it another way.
No. Inventory cost is your internal business cost, not a marketplace deduction. The tool keeps payout and profit separate so you can evaluate cash received and true margin.
Reserve holds help platforms protect against disputes, late refunds, or delivery risk. The held amount reduces current payout now and may be released after the reserve delay period.
Yes. Put zero in shipping charged to buyer and enter your actual shipping expense in shipping cost. That setup reflects a seller-funded shipping promotion.
A marketplace can still send cash even when inventory cost makes the order unprofitable. Payout tracks remittance; profit tracks business performance after product cost.
Yes, when you want order-level profitability. Divide campaign spend by attributed orders, then enter the estimated ad cost share for each order modeled.
It is flexible for most platforms, but fee rules vary. Adjust the rates, fixed charges, tax treatment, and reserve assumptions to match your marketplace statement.
