Calculator inputs
Enter impacts per functional unit, or scale by quantity.
Formula used
This calculator builds a unitless Environmental Impact Factor (EIF) by normalizing each impact category against a baseline and combining them with weights.
Weighted_i = Normalized_i × Weight_i
EIF = max(0, Σ Weighted_i − Credits)
If log-scaled is selected, Normalized_i becomes ln(1 + Normalized_i) to reduce the effect of extreme outliers.
How to use this calculator
- Enter impacts for your functional unit, such as per product.
- Set baselines to match a reference design or target.
- Adjust weights to reflect stakeholder priorities.
- Enable optional components like transport or toxicity as needed.
- Click Calculate to view score, breakdown, and suggestions.
- Use CSV or PDF export to attach results to reports.
