Formula Used

This calculator converts each payment into a monthly equivalent, then adds everything together.

  • Monthly Equivalent = Payment × Frequency Factor
  • Total Monthly Debt = Σ (Monthly Equivalent of each debt)
  • Debt-to-Income = (Total Monthly Debt ÷ Gross Monthly Income) × 100

Frequency factors: weekly = 52/12, biweekly = 26/12, semi-monthly = 2, quarterly = 1/3, yearly = 1/12.
