It’s the breakdown of how funds from a raise or budget will be allocated across initiatives such as product, hiring, marketing, and operations.

2) Percent vs amount—what should I choose?
Use percent early when targets are fluid; switch to amounts when budgets are fixed or you’re aligning to department requests.

3) How are minimums and caps applied?
We enforce category minimums and caps, then rebalance the remaining categories proportionally (for percent mode) to match the total raise.

4) Why do I see a leftover or shortfall?
In amount mode, the sum of category amounts may differ from total proceeds; the difference is displayed as leftover (positive) or shortfall (negative).

5) Can I model contingency?
Yes. Add a category named “Contingency” and give it a fixed percent or amount; it will be included in totals like any category.

6) How precise are percentages?
Inputs accept four decimal places to support high precision planning and reduce rounding discrepancies in large raises.

7) How do I export results?
After calculating, click “Export CSV” to download a comma-separated file with category allocations, amounts, and percents.
