Example data table
| Scenario | Strength | Dose | Basis | AI Total | Rate |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Applied rate on beds | 1.0% | 30 mL (density 1.0) | 50 m² | 0.30 g | 0.006 g/m² |
| Required product for target rate | 2.0% | — | 100 m² at 0.02 g/m² | 2.00 g | Need 100 g product (approx.) |
| Tank mix documentation | 120 g/L | 10 mL | 15 L tank | 1.20 g | 0.080 g/L |
Formula used
The calculator converts label strength into grams of active ingredient per gram or per milliliter of product. When you use %, it is treated as weight-based, and density helps convert between grams and milliliters.
AI_total (g) = Product_amount × Strength_factor
- If strength is %: Strength_factor = (% / 100) (g AI per g product).
- If strength is g/L: Strength_factor = g/L ÷ 1000 (g AI per mL product).
- If strength is mg/mL: Strength_factor = mg/mL ÷ 1000 (g AI per mL product).
- If strength is lb/gal: converted to g/L using standard factors.
AI_rate (g/m²) = AI_total (g) ÷ Area (m²)
The calculator also reports kg/ha and g/1000 ft² using unit conversions.
AI_needed (g) = Target_rate (g/m²) × Area (m²)
Required_product = AI_needed ÷ Strength_factor
This is useful when you know the label rate but need the product dose.
How to use this calculator
- Select a mode: applied rate, required product, or tank mix strength.
- Enter your product dose and label strength. Add density if measuring by volume.
- Provide area (for rate modes) or tank volume (for tank mode).
- Press Submit to see results above the form.
- Use the saved table to download CSV or PDF for your records.
