Formula used
- Bead cross‑section area ≈ width × depth (rectangular approximation).
- Required volume = total joint length × bead area.
- Waste allowance multiplies required volume by (1 + waste%).
- Tubes needed = required volume ÷ tube volume, then apply rounding.
Unit handling details:
- Imperial: tube volume (in³) = fl oz × 1.8046875. Length converts ft → in.
- Metric: tube volume (mm³) = mL × 1000. Length converts m → mm.
