Formula Used

  • Gross area: rectangular = L × W, circular = π × (D/2)², custom = user area.
  • Net area: gross − obstacles (clamped to zero).
  • Usable seating zone: net × (1 − circulation%/100).
  • Area-based capacity: floor(usable zone ÷ per-seat allowance).
  • Furniture check: sum of estimated furniture footprints, compared to usable zone.

Per-seat allowance depends on seating style and comfort level. Defaults reflect common patio planning practices and should be adjusted for your furniture and local guidance.
