Example Data Table
Parameter Input Unit Key Output
Total Alkalinity 120 ppm (as CaCO3) 6.86 meq/L
Calcium Hardness 10 °fH 100 ppm (as CaCO3)
Free Chlorine 3.0 ppm 6.75 ppm Bromine eq.

These examples show typical conversions for water care and garden systems.

Formula Used

Hardness-style conversions treat readings as calcium carbonate equivalents:

  • meq/L = ppm ÷ 50 because 1 meq/L equals 50 mg/L as CaCO3.
  • dKH = ppm ÷ 17.848 and °dH = ppm ÷ 17.848.
  • gpg = ppm ÷ 17.1 for grains per gallon.
  • °fH = ppm ÷ 10 for French hardness degrees.

Sanitizer equivalence uses a common pool/spa rule of thumb:

  • Bromine (ppm) ≈ Chlorine (ppm) × 2.25
  • Chlorine (ppm) ≈ Bromine (ppm) ÷ 2.25
