Example Data Table
| Parameter | Input | Unit | Key Output |
|---|---|---|---|
| Total Alkalinity | 120 | ppm (as CaCO3) | 6.86 meq/L |
| Calcium Hardness | 10 | °fH | 100 ppm (as CaCO3) |
| Free Chlorine | 3.0 | ppm | 6.75 ppm Bromine eq. |
These examples show typical conversions for water care and garden systems.
Formula Used
Hardness-style conversions treat readings as calcium carbonate equivalents:
meq/L = ppm ÷ 50because 1 meq/L equals 50 mg/L as CaCO3.dKH = ppm ÷ 17.848and°dH = ppm ÷ 17.848.gpg = ppm ÷ 17.1for grains per gallon.°fH = ppm ÷ 10for French hardness degrees.
Sanitizer equivalence uses a common pool/spa rule of thumb:
Bromine (ppm) ≈ Chlorine (ppm) × 2.25Chlorine (ppm) ≈ Bromine (ppm) ÷ 2.25
