Formula Used

XP needed = Target XP - Current XP.

Effective XP per item = Base XP × Method multiplier × Bonus factor × Waste factor.

Bonus factor = 1 + Bonus percent ÷ 100.

Waste factor = 1 - Waste percent ÷ 100.

Items needed = Ceiling of XP needed ÷ Effective XP per item.

Total cost = Items to buy × Item price + Items needed × Handling fee.

Estimated hours = Items needed ÷ Actions per hour.

The level XP table is generated with the standard OSRS level curve. This lets level inputs become exact experience targets.

OSRS Prayer Planning Guide

Prayer training can become expensive very quickly. A good plan saves coins, bones, and time. This calculator helps you compare common training routes before you buy supplies. It uses your current level, target level, base item experience, and chosen method multiplier. You can also add price, stock, speed, waste, and small bonus values.

Why Prayer XP Matters

Prayer unlocks useful protection prayers, strength boosts, and late game utility. Many accounts rush key levels for combat, quests, Slayer, or bossing. The problem is simple. Faster methods often cost more. Safer methods may take longer. This tool shows the tradeoff in clear numbers.

Method Choice

Burying bones gives the base experience only. A gilded altar with both burners gives a larger reward. Ectofuntus gives strong experience but has extra steps. The Chaos Altar can save many bones over time, but it is in the Wilderness. The sacred bone burner is another multiplier option. You may also choose a custom multiplier for special rules or future updates.

Cost Control

The calculator separates needed items from items you already own. This helps when you have banked bones after Slayer. Enter the current market price if you want a close cost estimate. Add a handling fee for unnoting, travel, or other small costs. The cost per experience value then shows how efficient the plan looks.

Time Planning

Actions per hour can change a lot. Manual use, banking route, lag, and attention all matter. Use a conservative value if you want a safer estimate. The tool also estimates inventories. That number helps you understand banking trips and session length.

Smart Training Tips

Always check current item prices before buying. Test a small batch first. Risk only what you can lose at dangerous altars. Use custom experience when a new item is added. Save the CSV or PDF if you want to compare several plans later. Review your assumptions after each price change. Even small market swings can change the best option for long Prayer goals quickly.

Final Thoughts

Prayer training is easier when every variable is visible. This calculator turns levels, items, prices, and methods into one plan. It is designed for fast checks and deeper comparisons. Use it before large purchases.

FAQs

What does this Prayer XP calculator do?

It estimates XP needed, items required, total cost, time, inventories, and final level for OSRS Prayer training.

Can I use my exact current XP?

Yes. Enter current XP in the override box. The calculator will use that value instead of level-start XP.

Can I set a custom target XP?

Yes. Use the target XP override field. This is useful for partial levels, quest planning, or virtual goals.

Why is Chaos Altar shown as 7x?

It is an averaged planning value. It combines altar experience with the expected saving from bones not being consumed.

Can I add new bones or ashes?

Yes. Select Custom, enter the item name, and add its base Prayer experience.

What does waste percent mean?

Waste percent reduces effective XP. Use it for mistakes, lost supplies, deaths, or conservative planning.

Does the calculator fetch live prices?

No. Enter prices manually. This keeps the file simple and easy to host on most sites.

How do CSV and PDF downloads work?

Submit the form with either download button. The page creates a file from the current calculator inputs and results.
