Formula used

1) Gross pay per period
Salary: Gross = Annual Salary ÷ Periods per Year
Hourly: Gross = (Regular Hours × Rate) + (Overtime Hours × Rate × Multiplier)
2) Taxable wages
Taxable Wages = (Gross − Pre-tax Deductions) + Taxable Benefits
3) Withholding (simple estimator)
Tax = Taxable Wages × Rate for federal, state, and local.
Social Security is limited by an annual wage base using an annualized estimate.
4) Net pay
Net Pay = Gross − Pre-tax − Total Taxes − Post-tax Deductions

This tool is designed for planning and advising. Actual pay statements can differ due to brackets, credits, special rules, and benefit eligibility.
