Formula Used

Achievement %
Achievement = (Actual ÷ Target) × 100
If the target is zero, the calculator uses Progress % instead.
Quality %
Quality % = Quality Rating × 10
Goal Score %
Goal Score = (0.45 × Progress) + (0.30 × Achievement) + (0.15 × Quality %) + (0.10 × Deadline)
Overall Performance Index
Overall Score = Σ (Normalized Goal Weight × Goal Score)
Normalized weight is each goal weight divided by the total entered weight.

FAQs

1. What does this calculator measure?

It combines progress, KPI achievement, quality, deadline adherence, and goal weighting into one overall performance index. This gives managers a structured view of goal execution during reviews or coaching conversations.

2. Do the goal weights need to total 100?

No. The calculator normalizes entered weights automatically. If the total is not 100, each goal still receives a proportional share based on its relative weight.

3. What happens if I leave target value empty?

If the target is zero or blank, the calculator uses progress percentage as the achievement value. This keeps the score usable for non-numeric or milestone-based goals.

4. Why is quality rated from 0 to 10?

A 0 to 10 scale is easy to review consistently. The tool converts it into a percentage so it blends smoothly with progress, achievement, and deadline adherence.

5. Can this be used for quarterly reviews?

Yes. It works well for quarterly, midyear, or annual reviews. You can also use it during monthly check-ins to track movement before the formal review cycle.

6. What does a low score mean?

A low score suggests weak progress, missed targets, low quality, poor deadline adherence, or unbalanced weighting. It signals where managers may need to coach, clarify, or reprioritize.

7. Is the score a final performance rating?

No. It is a structured decision aid. Final evaluations should still consider role scope, context, behavior, collaboration, and company performance policies.

8. Can I export the results?

Yes. After calculation, the page provides CSV and PDF download buttons. These exports help document review conversations and preserve a clean record of goal performance.
