Formula Used

To convert a time value into decimal hours:

  • Total Seconds = (Hours × 3600) + (Minutes × 60) + Seconds
  • Decimal Hours = Total Seconds ÷ 3600
  • Decimal Minutes = Total Seconds ÷ 60
  • Decimal Days = Total Seconds ÷ 86400

Rounding options are applied after conversion:

  • Fixed decimal places (2dp, 3dp, 4dp) for payroll and reporting.
  • Step rounding: 0.25 hours, 5-minute, 6-minute, 0.10 or 0.01 units.
