1) What does this calculator actually measure?
It calculates each partner’s share of profit using a selected basis such as capital only, weighted capital-time-effort, or custom units. It also shows the simplified ratio behind the allocation.

| Partner | Capital | Months | Effort | Guaranteed | Ratio | Final Share |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Alice | 10,000.00 | 12 | 1.20 | 500.00 | 24 | 8,336.73 |
| Bob | 8,000.00 | 12 | 1.00 | 300.00 | 16 | 5,524.49 |
| Cara | 6,000.00 | 10 | 0.90 | 200.00 | 9 | 3,138.78 |
Sample totals: Total profit = 18,000. Reserve = 1,000. Remaining pool = 17,000. Guarantees = 1,000. Ratio-based remainder = 16,000.
1) Distributable pool
Pool = Total Profit − Reserve
This removes retained earnings, tax holdbacks, or other deductions before partner allocation begins.
2) Weighted share basis
Capital Only: Weight = Capital
Weighted Mode: Weight = Capital × Months × Effort + Extra Units
Custom Units Only: Weight = Extra Units
3) Remaining variable profit
Remaining = Pool − Sum of Guaranteed Amounts
Guaranteed amounts are allocated first, then the rest is shared by ratio.
4) Final partner share
Variable Share = Remaining × Partner Weight ÷ Total Weight
Final Share = Guaranteed Amount + Variable Share
It calculates each partner’s share of profit using a selected basis such as capital only, weighted capital-time-effort, or custom units. It also shows the simplified ratio behind the allocation.
Use it when profit depends on both investment and participation. It works well when one partner contributed more time, took extra risk, or handled more work.
Guaranteed amounts are fixed payouts assigned before the remaining profit is split by ratio. They are useful for minimum draws, management fees, or agreed base returns.
Yes. Enter different month values for each partner. That changes the weighted basis and automatically affects the final share calculation.
Select Custom Units Only and enter each partner’s units in the extra/custom field. The calculator then ignores capital, months, and effort values.
A reserve keeps part of the profit unavailable for distribution. It can represent retained earnings, taxes, debt payments, emergency funds, or future operating needs.
The simplified ratio reflects the weight basis, not guaranteed amounts. Final shares may differ from the ratio when fixed guarantees are added first.
Yes. You can test different scenarios, compare outcomes visually, and export the results. That makes it useful for drafting or checking a fair allocation method.
