Frequently asked questions

1. What does this tuition estimator include?

It includes tuition, admission, registration, books, uniforms, technology charges, transport, meals, daycare add ons, activities, discounts, scholarships, taxes, installment sizing, and future fee increases.

2. Is the admission fee treated differently?

Yes. Admission is counted as a one time first year charge. Recurring yearly totals exclude that fee unless you manually place it into another recurring field.

3. How is the sibling discount applied?

The sibling discount is applied only to base tuition, not to transport, meals, or activity charges. This matches how many schools structure fee reductions.

4. Does the scholarship reduce every projected year?

This version treats scholarship or aid as the same fixed amount each year. If your aid changes over time, re run the estimate with updated values.

5. What should I enter for annual increase?

Use the school’s expected yearly fee increase. If you are unsure, many families test several scenarios, such as 3%, 5%, and 8%, for safer planning.

6. Can I use this for daycare and preschool planning?

Yes. The calculator is suitable for daycare, preschool, kindergarten, and later school years because it separates tuition from add on services and one time charges.

7. Why does monthly budget differ from installment cost?

Monthly budget spreads the first year total over twelve months. Installment cost divides the same first year total by your chosen number of annual payments.

8. Are taxes always required in school fee planning?

No. Many schools do not charge tax on tuition, but some may add service or processing fees. Enter zero when no tax or processing charge applies.
