Important: Converting between activity and air-kerma strength is not universal. It depends on radionuclide, encapsulation, and calibration. This tool converts within each family.
Formula Used
1) Activity conversions

Activity measures nuclear decays per unit time. The base unit is the becquerel: 1 Bq = 1 disintegration per second. Curie-based conversions use: 1 Ci = 3.7 × 1010 Bq. For minutes: 1 dpm = 1/60 Bq.

2) Air-kerma strength conversions

Air-kerma strength is commonly expressed in U, where 1 U = 1 μGy·m²/h. A frequently used equivalent form is: 1 U = 1 cGy·cm²/h. The converter uses a single base and scales via unit factors for μGy, mGy, Gy and m², cm².

How to Use This Calculator
  1. Select a quantity family (Activity or Air-kerma strength).
  2. Enter the value you want to convert.
  3. Choose the From and To units.
  4. Set decimals or enable scientific notation.
  5. Click Convert. Your result appears above the form.
  6. Use Download CSV or Download PDF after conversion.
Example Data Table
Quantity Input Converted To Result
Activity 37 MBq mCi ≈ 1.000000 mCi
Activity 2500 μCi MBq ≈ 92.500000 MBq
Air-kerma strength 12 U cGy·cm²/h 12.000000 cGy·cm²/h
Air-kerma strength 0.004 Gy·m²/h U ≈ 4000.000000 U
