Formula used
The calculator treats the barbell as a symmetric system. Enter plate counts per side. Total mass is the bar, plus collars, plus plates on both sides.
- m_total = m_bar + 2·m_collar + 2·Σ(m_plate,i · n_i)
- W = m_total(kg) · g (weight force in Newtons)
- Unit conversion: 1 lb = 0.45359237 kg, 1 N = 0.2248089439 lbf
Weight force depends on gravity; mass does not.
