FAQs

1. What does weighted progress mean?

Weighted progress combines several career activities into one score. Milestones carry the largest share, while skills, networking, applications, and learning hours also contribute to the final percentage.

2. Why is time progress different from career progress?

Time progress measures how much of your schedule has passed. Career progress measures completed work. Comparing them shows whether your effort is ahead, aligned, or behind plan.

3. How should I choose milestone targets?

Use meaningful checkpoints such as certification completion, portfolio updates, interview practice rounds, networking sessions, or application batches. Strong milestones make your plan measurable and easier to manage.

4. What is a good readiness score?

A higher readiness score suggests better preparation. Scores above 75% often indicate strong skill coverage, better network activity, and solid confidence and consistency levels.

5. Can this tracker help with promotions?

Yes. You can track internal promotion goals by using milestones such as leadership projects, mentoring, stakeholder visibility, training, and performance discussions.

6. What does the focus area show?

The focus area identifies the weakest progress category. It helps you decide whether to invest next effort into skills, networking, applications, learning time, or milestone completion.

7. Why include confidence and consistency?

Career goals depend on more than tasks completed. Confidence affects execution quality, while consistency affects how reliably you move forward each week.

8. When should I update my tracker?

Update it weekly or after major actions. Frequent updates keep the projected completion date, urgency score, and next focus area more useful.
