Formula Used
1. Organic CTR
Organic CTR is estimated from the current organic position using a position-based click curve.
2. Map Pack CTR
Map Pack CTR is estimated from the local pack position. Enter 0 when the business does not appear there.
3. Weighted CTR
Weighted CTR = ((Organic CTR × 0.72) + (Map Pack CTR × 0.28)) × Device Factor × Local Intent
4. Estimated Monthly Local Clicks
Estimated Clicks = Search Volume × Weighted CTR × Review Factor × Distance Factor
5. Visibility Score
Visibility Score = (Estimated Clicks ÷ Best Possible Clicks) × 100
6. Momentum Score
Momentum blends rank gain, improved locations share, and map pack presence into a 0 to 100 score.
7. Local Ranking Index
Index = (Visibility × 0.40) + (Momentum × 0.25) + (Coverage × 0.15) + (Authority × 0.10) + (Consistency × 0.10)
8. Opportunity Score
Opportunity Score = ((Best Possible Clicks - Estimated Clicks) ÷ Best Possible Clicks) × 100

FAQs
1. What does this calculator measure?
It estimates local search visibility using organic rank, map pack position, search volume, device context, reviews, distance, and tracking coverage.
2. Why is map pack position tracked separately?
Local pack exposure often drives clicks differently from standard blue links. Separate weighting shows its extra effect on total local traffic potential.
3. Can I use this for multiple keywords?
Yes. Run one calculation per keyword, location, and device combination. That keeps each result clean and easy to compare later.
4. How are clicks estimated?
Estimated clicks come from search volume multiplied by weighted CTR, then adjusted by review strength, local intent, and distance from the search area.
5. Does distance really affect local performance?
Usually yes. Businesses closer to the search centroid often perform better locally, so the calculator reduces visibility when distance grows.
6. Should search volume be exact?
No. A strong estimate still helps because the tool is especially useful for comparing direction, momentum, and unrealized opportunity.
7. Can mobile and desktop results differ?
Yes. Layout, intent, and pack prominence can differ by device, so the calculator applies a separate factor for device context.
8. What does the opportunity score mean?
It estimates how much click potential remains untapped. Higher scores suggest greater upside from better rankings or stronger pack visibility.
