Line Haul = Effective Distance ÷ Route Speed.
Effective Distance = Input Distance × (1 + Detour %).
Hub Time = Sorting Hubs × Delay per Hub.
Handoff Time = Carrier Handoffs × Delay per Handoff.
Remote Area Adjustment = Line Haul × Remote Area %.
Calendar ETA adds weekend and holiday holds when those periods are excluded from processing.

Effective distance includes detour percentage. This reflects real routing, line-haul shifts, or indirect paths that are longer than straight travel distance.
4. When should I use a custom route speed?
Use it when you have lane-specific carrier data, contract metrics, or operational benchmarks. Leave it blank if you want the default speed from the chosen mail service.
5. How do weekend settings affect results?
If weekend processing is disabled, the calculator pauses transit during Saturday and Sunday. That increases calendar hours and can push the ETA into later working days.
6. What is the cutoff penalty?
If dispatch happens after the cutoff hour, the model adds one day of delay. This simulates missed outbound processing or next-cycle dispatch release.
7. Can I use holiday dates for closures?
Yes. Enter holiday dates in YYYY-MM-DD format, separated by commas. The calculator skips those dates when weekend processing rules are active.
