Example Data Table

Player Height Wrist to Floor Posture Suggested 5 Iron
Player A 66 in 31 in Athletic 36.10 in
Player B 70 in 34 in Neutral 37.00 in
Player C 74 in 37 in Upright 38.00 in

Formula Used

Base iron length = 37 inches + height adjustment + wrist-to-floor adjustment + posture adjustment + swing adjustment + skill adjustment.

The calculator starts from a standard 5 iron length of 37 inches. It then adds or subtracts adjustments from height bands, wrist-to-floor measurement bands, posture style, swing plane, age group, set style, arm length, and handicap level. Other club lengths are derived from the fitted 5 iron reference using standard club spacing.
