Formula Used

Adjusted Taxable Income = max(0, Accounting Profit + Add-backs - Deductions - Loss Carryforward)

Bracket Tax = Taxable Portion in Bracket × Bracket Rate

Gross Tax = Sum of all bracket taxes

Surtax Amount = Gross Tax × Surtax Rate

Final Tax Payable = max(Minimum Tax, Gross Tax + Surtax - Credits Used)

Effective Tax Rate = (Final Tax Payable ÷ Adjusted Taxable Income) × 100

Marginal Tax Rate = Rate of the highest bracket reached by adjusted taxable income

FAQs

1) What does this calculator estimate?

It estimates corporate tax using progressive brackets, adjustments, credits, surtax, minimum tax, effective rate, marginal rate, and after-tax income.

2) Can I use this for different countries?

Yes. The bracket limits and rates are editable, so you can model local tax structures, internal forecasts, or scenario plans.

3) What is the difference between marginal and effective tax rate?

Marginal rate is the rate on the last taxable portion reached. Effective rate is total tax divided by adjusted taxable income.

4) How are deductions and add-backs handled?

Add-backs increase taxable income, while deductions reduce it. The calculator applies both before bracket tax is computed.

5) What happens if taxable income becomes zero?

The bracket tax becomes zero, but a minimum tax floor can still create a final payable tax amount.

6) Do tax credits always reduce final tax fully?

Credits reduce pre-credit tax first. If a minimum tax floor is higher, the final result cannot go below that floor.

7) Why is there an open-ended final bracket?

It lets the calculator continue taxing income above the last upper limit, which is essential for high-profit scenarios.

8) What do the export buttons include?

The exports include your calculated summary and bracket-by-bracket breakdown, making review, sharing, and documentation easier.
