Formula Used
UTC conversion: Every tested organizer start time is converted to UTC first, then converted to each participant's local time. This keeps daylight-saving shifts consistent.
Outside minutes: Outside Minutes = Minutes before work start + Minutes after work end.
Participant score: Participant Score = max(0, 100 - 1.5 × Outside Minutes - Night Penalty).
Weighted convenience: Weighted Convenience = Σ(Participant Score × Weight) / Σ(Weight).
Overlap percentage: Overlap % = Σ(Weight for participants fully inside working hours) / Σ(Weight) × 100.
Fairness index: Fairness = max(0, 100 - 1.2 × Standard Deviation of participant scores).
Total score: Total Score = 0.55 × Weighted Convenience + 0.25 × Overlap % + 0.20 × Fairness.

FAQs
1. What does this calculator optimize?
It optimizes meeting start times by comparing local work windows, participant priority weights, overlap percentage, and fairness across all attendees.
2. Why are some slots ranked lower?
A slot loses points when it starts before work hours, ends after work hours, or places attendees too late at night.
3. How do priority weights affect results?
Higher weights make a participant's convenience more influential. This helps protect executives, clients, or critical regional teams during scheduling.
4. Does it support daylight saving time?
Yes. The calculator uses timezone-aware browser conversion, so DST offsets are handled automatically for the selected date.
5. Can I leave optional participants blank?
Yes. Blank participant rows are skipped, so you can evaluate smaller calls without editing the layout or breaking calculations.
6. What is the fairness index?
The fairness index measures how evenly inconvenience is distributed. Higher fairness means the burden is shared more evenly across participants.
7. What does the graph show?
The graph plots every tested organizer start time against the final score, helping you see strong and weak scheduling windows quickly.
8. When should I export CSV or PDF?
Export after calculation when you want to share ranked slots, participant local times, and summary metrics with your team or clients.
