A standard QR symbol begins with twenty-one modules per side. Each higher version adds four modules to both dimensions. The size rule is modules = 21 + 4 × (version − 1).

What a QR code stores
QR codes can store plain text or structured text commands. A website code usually stores a complete HTTPS address. Email phone SMS and Wi-Fi codes use recognized URI formats.
Contact codes commonly use vCard text with several labeled fields. Calendar codes use event data with start and end values. Location codes can store geographic coordinates through a geo URI.
Styling without harming reliability
Strong foreground and background contrast supports dependable camera detection. Decorative gradients should remain dark enough across every QR module. Transparent backgrounds work best over simple light surrounding surfaces.
The quiet zone gives scanners empty space around the symbol. Very small margins can make nearby artwork interfere with detection. Large central logos should use higher error correction whenever possible.
Static and dynamic QR codes
This generator creates static QR codes containing their final payload. Static codes continue working while their encoded destination remains valid. They cannot change destinations after the image is published.
Dynamic QR systems encode a managed redirect link instead. That approach needs a database and redirect service on hosting. It can provide edits analytics expiration rules and campaign tracking.

Scanning and printing tips
Print tests should use the same size as final production. Glossy surfaces can reflect light and reduce camera recognition. Small labels need fewer encoded characters and generous quiet zones.
Vector SVG output is useful for large professional print layouts. PNG works well for websites documents and common digital sharing. JPEG may introduce compression around sharp module edges.
