Calculator Inputs
Use the fields below to model real-world hybrid ownership costs.
Formula Used
- Monthly loan payment: PMT = P × (r(1+r)^n)/((1+r)^n − 1), where r = APR/12 and n is months.
- Interest paid within your horizon is summed from a month-by-month amortization schedule.
- Depreciation: Dep = max(0, PurchasePrice − ResaleValue).
- Fuel cost per year: Gallons = GasMiles / MPG, FuelCost = Gallons × FuelPrice, with yearly growth.
- Electric cost per year (optional): kWh = EVmiles × (kWhPer100/100), ElecCost = kWh × ElecPrice, with yearly growth.
- Total Cost of Ownership (TCO): depreciation + interest + energy + maintenance + insurance + fees + taxes − incentives.
How to Use This Calculator
- Set your ownership horizon and expected annual miles.
- Enter purchase price, taxes, incentives, and financing details.
- Provide fuel economy and current fuel price; add electric settings if needed.
- Estimate maintenance, insurance, and annual fees; adjust growth rates.
- Press Calculate to view TCO, per-mile cost, and exports.
Example Data Table
