Formula Used

Gross area = Length × Width

Net area = Gross area − Opening area

Rib area = Rib depth × (Top flute width + Bottom flute width) ÷ 2

Equivalent fill thickness = Rib area ÷ Flute spacing

Average concrete thickness = Topping thickness + Equivalent fill thickness

Concrete volume = Net area × Average concrete thickness

Order volume = Concrete volume × (1 + Waste percentage ÷ 100)

Concrete load = Average thickness × Concrete density

Total dead load = Concrete load + Steel deck load + Reinforcement load
