Formula Used

For AFQT percentile mode:

z = Φ⁻¹(AFQT percentile / 100)

Estimated IQ = 100 + 15 × z

For ASVAB standard score mode:

z = (ASVAB standard score - 50) / 10

Estimated IQ = 100 + 15 × z

Confidence band:

IQ range = Estimated IQ ± confidence z value × standard error

ASVAB and IQ Scores Explained
