Formula Used

The calculator uses a race prediction formula. The main equation is:

T2 = T1 × (D2 ÷ D1)E

T1 is your entered time. D1 is your entered distance. D2 is one mile. E is the selected exponent. A same pace model uses 1.00. The Riegel model uses 1.06. A higher exponent gives a more conservative result. The final result also applies effort and condition adjustments.

Final mile time = predicted time × effort factor × condition factor

Pace per kilometer divides the mile time by 1.609344. Speed in mph equals 3600 divided by mile seconds. The calorie option uses a simple distance estimate. It multiplies body weight in kilograms by 1.609344.
