Formula Used

The calculator uses vertex distance compensation to convert contact lens power into spectacle lens power.

Glasses Power = Contact Power / (1 + Vertex Distance × Contact Power)

Vertex distance must be entered in meters inside the formula. The calculator converts millimeters automatically.

For cylinder prescriptions, the calculator converts both meridians separately:

Meridian 1 = Sphere

Meridian 2 = Sphere + Cylinder
