Formula Used
The calculator uses the relationship that one ppm equals one milligram per liter.
Pool liters = gallons × 3.785411784
Free chlorine rise = target FC − current FC
Active chlorine grams = pool liters × ppm rise ÷ 1000
Liquid product grams = active chlorine grams ÷ effective strength fraction
Liquid fluid ounces = liquid milliliters ÷ 29.5735295625
Granular product grams = active chlorine grams ÷ available chlorine fraction
The liquid loss factor reduces the entered liquid strength before dosing.
