Formula Used

The distance calculation uses the Haversine formula. It measures the shortest path over a sphere. Latitude and longitude become radians first. The formula finds the angle between both airports. That angle is multiplied by Earth's radius in miles.

estimated ANA miles = mileage basis × accrual rate
Premium Points estimate = mileage basis × accrual rate × route ratio + boarding points

The routing factor accounts for indirect travel. A factor of 1.00 keeps the great-circle distance. A higher factor adds distance for routing through another city. The ticketed mileage override is stronger than the estimate. Enter published sector mileage when you have it. The calculator uses that figure as the earning basis. This produces a more relevant personal estimate.
