Acid fl oz = 2.56 × (pool gallons ÷ 10,000) × alkalinity decrease × (31.45 ÷ acid strength)

The alkalinity decrease equals current alkalinity minus target alkalinity. The strength factor adjusts the dose when the acid product is weaker than 31.45%. Results are estimates. Always retest before adding more acid.
