Formula Used

The calculator first converts every time input into seconds.

Total seconds = days × 86400 + hours × 3600 + minutes × 60 + seconds + milliseconds ÷ 1000

For a date range, it uses this formula.

Total seconds = end timestamp - start timestamp

Breaks are removed before division.

Total break seconds = (number of parts - 1) × break seconds

Segment seconds = (total seconds - total break seconds) ÷ number of parts

When rounding is selected, the segment is adjusted to the chosen increment. The calculator then shows leftover or extra time as the remainder.
