FAQs

What does referral time to hire mean?

It measures the time from referral date to offer date. This helps compare referral speed against internal hiring targets and career planning expectations.

Why track individual stages separately?

Stage tracking shows where delays happen. You can see whether the slowdown came from screening, interviews, approvals, or candidate response time.

What is the efficiency index?

The efficiency index combines timeline speed with referral quality. It gives a broader view than raw days alone, especially for stronger referred candidates.

Should I use working days or calendar days?

Use working days for recruiter operations and internal SLA tracking. Use calendar days when you want a candidate-focused view of total elapsed time.

Can I leave the second interview blank?

Yes. If your process has one interview round, the calculator skips that stage and measures the offer from the first interview date.

What if the candidate has not accepted yet?

You can still calculate time to hire. Acceptance and start metrics remain pending until those dates are entered.

How does the target SLA help career planning?

It helps candidates and recruiters estimate whether the process is moving normally. Long gaps can guide follow-ups, interview preparation, or backup applications.

Can this calculator compare multiple candidates?

This version calculates one referral timeline at a time. Use the example table format to compare several candidates manually or in a spreadsheet.
