FAQs

1. What costs does this planner include?

It includes gift price, quantity, recipient discount, shipping, wrapping, sales tax, contingency, and cashback savings. This gives a more realistic holiday spending estimate than using gift prices alone.

2. Why should I use a contingency percentage?

A contingency buffer covers unexpected costs such as rush delivery, added wrapping, last-minute add-ons, or price changes. It makes the final projection safer and more practical.

3. How are discounts applied?

The discount percentage is applied to the recipient subtotal before shipping, wrapping, and tax are added. This mirrors common sale and coupon behavior in many online stores.

4. Does an empty recipient card affect totals?

No. Blank cards are ignored. Only cards with a name or any positive cost values are included in the final holiday spending calculations.

5. What does the priority level do?

Priority helps you rank gifts from optional to essential. It does not change the final cost, but it helps you interpret which expenses should stay or be reduced first.

6. What is the must-buy projected cost?

It estimates how much of your projected spend belongs to must-buy recipients. This helps protect core gifting commitments before trimming lower-priority plans.

7. What happens if I go over budget?

The calculator shows an over-budget status and a recommended cut amount. You can then lower gift values, reduce extras, or remove optional recipients.

8. Can I use this for ecommerce promotions?

Yes. It works well for comparing sale discounts, coupon savings, cashback offers, and shipping assumptions while planning holiday purchases across multiple online stores.
