Understanding Gyroscope Electrical Output Analysis

In modern electronic and aerospace engineering systems, measuring rotation accurately relies heavily on converting mechanical angular velocity into a proportional electrical signal. MEMS and optical gyroscopes utilize internal capacitive or piezoelectric transducers to generate an analog voltage output. Calculating this output voltage requires accounting for multiple real-world parameters including scale factors, thermal drifts, electronic biases, and inherent noise profiles.

Formula Used

The comprehensive electrical calculation accounts for primary conversion along with environmental variations. The implemented formula is expressed as:

$$V_{out} = (\Omega \times S_F \times G_e) + (V_{bias} + TCO \times \Delta T) + (K_{nl} \times \Omega^2) + V_n$$

Where $\Omega$ represents angular velocity, $S_F$ is the scale factor, $G_e$ is the gain error multiplier, $V_{bias}$ is baseline offset, $TCO$ is temperature coefficient of offset, $\Delta T$ is temperature change from standard 25°C, $K_{nl}$ is the non-linearity coefficient, and $V_n$ accounts for system noise floor components.
