Attack Type Defender Type One Defender Type Two Multiplier Result
Electric Water Flying 4x Extreme weakness
Fire Grass Steel 4x Extreme weakness
Ground Electric Steel 4x Extreme weakness
Dragon Fairy None 0x Immune

Formula Used

Single type multiplier: Attack type value against defender type.

Dual type multiplier: Type one multiplier × type two multiplier.

Base damage: (((2 × Level ÷ 5 + 2) × Power × Attack ÷ Defense) ÷ 50) + 2.

Estimated damage: Base damage × type multiplier × same type bonus × other modifier.

The result is a planning estimate. Random rolls, abilities, held items, terrain, weather, and special battle rules can change final game damage.

How To Use This Calculator

Select the attacking move type first. Choose the defender primary type. Add a secondary type when needed. Enter move power, level, attack, defense, and optional modifier values. Tick the same type bonus box when the attacker shares the move type. Press the calculate button. The result appears below the header and above the form.

Pokemon Type Resistance Guide

A type resistance calculator helps players read battle risk before a turn starts. Each attack type meets one or two defending types. The matchup can double damage, reduce damage, or cancel damage. This tool uses those rules, then adds optional battle values. It is useful for teams, raids, story fights, and friendly tests.

Why Resistance Matters

Resistance is not only a defensive idea. It also shows where an attacker may fail. A Fire move can burn through Grass and Steel together. An Electric move fails against Ground. Dual typing makes this more interesting. Two small advantages can become a four times hit. Two resistances can shrink damage to one quarter.

Advanced Inputs

The calculator accepts move power, level, attack, defense, same type bonus, and another modifier. These fields create a practical damage estimate. The number is not a full game simulator. It is a planning guide. It keeps the focus on type impact and clear comparison. You can test many matchups quickly and export the rows.

Reading The Result

A multiplier of four means a very strong hit. A multiplier of two means a super effective hit. One means neutral damage. A half means resistance. A quarter means heavy resistance. Zero means immunity. The coverage table helps you see every attacking type against the chosen defender. This is helpful when picking move coverage.

Team Planning Uses

Good teams need answers for common threats. Select a defender, then scan the coverage table. Look for dangerous four times weaknesses first. Then find safe switches with many resistances. You can also test a planned attacker. Change the move type and compare the estimated output. This makes team edits faster.

Electrical Category Note

This page is filed under Electrical for site organization. The calculator still follows creature battle type logic. Electric is one of the included attack types. You can test Electric moves against Water, Flying, Ground, Dragon, and more. The same pattern helps users understand resistance like a circuit path. Some paths carry full impact. Other paths block or reduce it.

Exporting Results

CSV files help with spreadsheets. PDF reports help with sharing. Save several matchups, compare them later, and build clean notes for each planned team battle today.

FAQs

What does this calculator measure?

It measures how an attacking type performs against one or two defending types. It also estimates damage using power, level, attack, defense, same type bonus, and another modifier.

Can I use dual defending types?

Yes. Choose a primary type and a secondary type. The calculator multiplies both type effects together. This creates results such as 4x, 2x, 1x, 0.5x, 0.25x, or 0x.

What does 0x mean?

Zero means the defender is immune to that attacking type. For example, Ground blocks Electric attacks. Immunity cancels damage in this type calculation.

What is same type bonus?

Same type bonus applies when the attacker shares the move type. This calculator uses a 1.5x bonus when the checkbox is selected.

Is the damage estimate exact?

No. It is a useful estimate. Real battle damage may also depend on random rolls, abilities, held items, weather, terrain, critical hits, and game specific rules.

Why is Electric included here?

Electric is one of the standard attack types. The page category can be Electrical, but the calculator still handles every listed battle type.

Can I export the result?

Yes. After calculation, use the CSV button for spreadsheet data. Use the PDF button for a simple report you can save or share.

What is the coverage table?

The coverage table tests every attack type against the selected defender. It helps you find weaknesses, resistances, neutral hits, and immunities quickly.
