Do I need resting heart rate?
Resting heart rate is optional for percent-of-max zones. It becomes important for HRR zones, because it personalizes targets. If unknown, the calculator uses 60 bpm, but measured waking values improve accuracy.
Why are my zones different from my watch?
Devices may use different formulas, zone definitions, smoothing, or optical sensor readings. Heat, altitude, caffeine, and fatigue also shift heart rate. Align your watch settings with the same method and zone model used here.
How often should I recalculate zones?
