Calculator inputs
Add multiple items for seeds, fertilizer, compost, or amendments.Example data table
Sample inputs for a small herb batch (for illustration).
| Item | Unit cost | Qty used | Waste % |
|---|---|---|---|
| Basil seeds | 0.0500 | 30.0000 | 5.00 |
| Potting mix | 0.1200 | 15.0000 | 2.00 |
| Organic fertilizer | 0.2000 | 4.0000 | 0.00 |
Then set servings (e.g., 12), add labor, overhead, and optional profit.
Formula used
Line Cost = Unit Cost × Qty Used
Adjusted Line Cost = Line Cost × (1 + Waste% ÷ 100)
Materials (Adjusted) = Σ Adjusted Line Cost
Labor Cost = Labor Hours × Labor Rate
Subtotal = Materials + Labor + Other Costs
Overhead = Subtotal × (Overhead% ÷ 100)
Total With Overhead = Subtotal + Overhead
Profit = Total With Overhead × (Profit% ÷ 100)
Grand Total = Total With Overhead + Profit
Cost per Serving = Grand Total ÷ Servings
Waste% models spillage, spoilage, trimming losses, or unusable inputs.
