Enter label dilution and your coverage settings. Results appear above this form after you submit.
| Scenario | Area | Spray volume | Dose | Intensity | Vegetation | Buffer | Finished mix | Concentrate | Diluent |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Sample garden | 500 m² | 1.5 L / 100 m² | 10 mL / L | x1.25 | x1.10 | 5% | 10.83 L | 108 mL | 10.72 L |
Accurate coverage keeps fogging consistent across lawns, borders, and shaded corners. The calculator converts your area to m2, then applies a spray volume rate in L per 100 m2 to estimate total finished mix. This prevents under-application in dense zones and reduces leftover product. Many garden setups start by testing 0.5 to 5.0 L per 100 m2, then adjusting after a water-only calibration pass.
The label dilution dose, entered as mL concentrate per L, is the primary control. Finished mix (L) multiplied by that dose gives concentrate (mL). The tool also estimates diluent by subtracting concentrate volume from the finished mix. Optional multipliers for intensity and vegetation scale the planned coverage volume, while a small buffer adds extra mix to avoid mid-job shortages from overlap and tank residue.
If you know flow rate, speed, and effective swath width, equipment mode derives the spray volume rate automatically. Coverage equals speed × swath (m2 per minute). The tool converts output into L per 100 m2 using (flow ÷ coverage) × 100, and it estimates application time from area ÷ coverage. This helps you plan refill breaks and keep application steady.
Results report finished mix, concentrate, and diluent in liters, plus gallons and fluid ounces for convenience. Rounding settings let you match measuring tools, such as 5 mL steps for syringes or 0.1 L steps for jugs. For multi-batch work, divide the finished mix by tank capacity, keep the same dilution dose for each batch, and log settings for repeatability.
Drift and non-target exposure are the main risks near edible plants, ponds, and pollinator habitat. Apply only when permitted, avoid wind, and keep fog away from blooms and water. Follow label PPE, re-entry, and storage instructions, and never exceed the label dilution dose. If label directions conflict with any estimate here, the label always overrides the calculator.
It is the label mixing ratio. For each liter of finished mix, you add the stated milliliters of concentrate, then top up with diluent to reach one liter total.
Use intensity only to plan coverage volume where label allows. Never exceed the label dilution dose. If control is poor, improve calibration, timing, and habitat reduction before changing any chemical settings.
It converts your real output into L per 100 m2 using flow, speed, and swath. Small changes in walking speed or swath width can significantly change coverage, so this mode helps you align practice with planning.
Swath is the effective treated band, not the nozzle distance. Measure the visible, consistent coverage width during a water-only pass, then enter that value. Recheck whenever nozzle, pressure, or wind conditions change.
Yes. Choose m2, ft2, acre, or hectare. The calculator converts to m2 internally so the spray volume rate stays consistent and comparable.
A small buffer helps avoid running short due to overlaps, tank residue, or irregular boundaries. Keep buffers modest, mix only what you will use, and dispose of leftovers according to the label.
Fogging products are regulated and can harm non-target insects and plants if misused. Apply only when permitted, avoid blooming flowers, and prevent drift into neighboring properties or water bodies.
If you are unsure about dosing, consult the product label or a licensed professional.
