For foliar spray planning, the calculator estimates total spray solution from plant count and coverage: TotalSolution(L) = Plants × SprayPerPlant(mL) ÷ 1000 × Rounds × (1 + Wastage%).
Concentrate demand follows the label-style mixing rate: Concentrate(mL) = TotalSolution(L) × Rate(mL/L). If an emulsifier is used, it is computed the same way.
Refills are estimated as ceil(TotalSolution ÷ TankVolume). Final fill volume is the remainder after full tanks.

FAQs
1) Are the preset mixing rates always correct?
No. Presets are planning defaults. Always follow the product label for your plant species, pest, and temperature limits, and adjust the “rate” field to match the label.
2) Why does the calculator add a wastage percentage?
Real spraying includes overlap, runoff, and leftover mix in the tank. The wastage factor helps prevent under-mixing so you can finish a round without stopping mid-job.
3) What does “spray per plant” represent?
It is the approximate solution needed to wet leaves and stems to the point of light runoff. Use the size preset for a quick estimate, or override it if you know your sprayer output.
4) Should I spray only the top of leaves?
No. Scales often cluster on stems and leaf undersides. Good coverage under leaves and along veins typically improves control, especially when targeting newly hatched crawlers.
5) When should I avoid spraying oils or soaps?
Avoid extreme heat, strong sun, drought stress, or sensitive varieties. Test a small area first and respect label temperature windows to reduce leaf burn risk.
6) Can I use the systemic option for edible plants?
