Example Data Table
| Garden L | Garden W | Shaded L | Shaded W | Shade Hours | Coverage | Category |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| 10 m | 6 m | 5 m | 4 m | 4.5 | 33.33% | Moderate Shade |
| 20 ft | 12 ft | 10 ft | 8 ft | 2.5 | 33.33% | Moderate Shade |
| 8 m | 4 m | 2 m | 2 m | 7.0 | 12.50% | Light Shade |
Examples assume shaded area uses shaded length × shaded width.
Formula Used
- Total Area = Garden Length × Garden Width
- Shaded Area = Shaded Length × Shaded Width (or direct shaded area)
- Shade Coverage (%) = (Shaded Area ÷ Total Area) × 100
- Target Shade Area = (Target % ÷ 100) × Total Area
- Estimated Cloth Area = (Target Shade Area − Shaded Area) ÷ Cloth Factor
- Shade Index blends coverage and shade hours for quick guidance.
