About the 4 Pillars of Destiny Calculator
The four pillars system studies a birth moment through year, month, day, and hour signs. Each pillar has a heavenly stem and an earthly branch. This calculator converts your birth details into a practical chart. It also shows elements, animals, polarity, balance, and exportable notes.
Formula Used
The year pillar uses 1984 as a Jia Zi reference. The optional solar boundary moves early January and early February dates into the prior cycle. The month pillar follows approximate solar month gates. Tiger begins near February fourth. Each later month starts near a major solar term. The day pillar uses the Gregorian Julian day number. Stem index equals the Julian day plus nine, modulo ten. Branch index equals the Julian day plus one, modulo twelve. The hour branch uses two hour windows. Zi covers 23:00 through 00:59. The hour stem depends on the day stem group. Element balance counts visible stems and main branch elements.
How to Use This Calculator
Enter the birth date and birth time first. Add the time zone offset for the birthplace. Add longitude when you want a solar time correction. Keep the solar boundary option enabled for a common BaZi style estimate. Keep the Zi day option enabled when late night births should move to the next day. Choose gender only when you want a cycle direction estimate. Press calculate. The result appears above the form. Review each pillar row. Then compare element counts. A missing element does not mean failure. It only marks a weaker theme in this simplified model. Download the CSV for spreadsheets. Download the PDF for a clean saved report.
Reading the Output
The day pillar is often treated as the personal anchor. The month pillar can describe season and environmental strength. The year pillar gives wider background. The hour pillar may show later goals, ideas, and private plans. Element counts help you scan emphasis quickly. Wood suggests growth. Fire suggests expression. Earth suggests stability. Metal suggests structure. Water suggests movement. Treat the chart as symbolic guidance, not fixed proof. Exact professional charts may use precise astronomical solar terms, location rules, and tradition specific adjustments. This tool gives a transparent and editable estimate for general use.
