Formula Used

Each entry is first converted into seconds.

Entry seconds = hours × 3600 + minutes × 60 + seconds

Added entries increase the total. Subtracted entries reduce it.

Total seconds = sum of added seconds − sum of subtracted seconds

The final value is converted back into days, hours, minutes, and seconds.

Decimal hours = total seconds ÷ 3600

Overtime is calculated only when the final total is higher than the threshold.

About the Add Up Time Calculator

Why Time Addition Matters

Adding time by hand can become confusing. Minutes roll into hours. Seconds roll into minutes. Breaks must be removed with care. This calculator solves those problems in one clean place. It works well for work logs, study records, production tracking, sports timing, service calls, and project billing.

Flexible Time Tracking

The form accepts many separate entries. Each entry has a label, operation, hours, minutes, and seconds. You can add paid time. You can subtract unpaid breaks. You can also enter small second-based values for precise tasks. The calculator normalizes large minute or second values. That means 90 minutes becomes one hour and thirty minutes during processing.

Useful Business Outputs

The result shows standard time and decimal time. Standard time is easier to read. Decimal time is useful for payroll and invoices. The tool also separates regular time from overtime. Enter your overtime threshold, hourly rate, and multiplier. The calculator then estimates regular pay, overtime pay, and total pay.

Rounding and Reports

Some reports need exact totals. Others need rounded totals. This page supports no rounding, minute rounding, five-minute rounding, fifteen-minute rounding, and thirty-minute rounding. That helps match common time sheet rules. The CSV export is best for spreadsheets. The PDF export is best for quick sharing or archiving. Both exports include the main totals and entry details.

Better Accuracy

Use separate rows for each session. Avoid mixing breaks with work entries. Label each row clearly. Review the raw total before using rounded totals for payroll. This habit reduces mistakes and makes your records easier to audit later.
