Formula Used

This calculator uses a transparent planning model. It is made for comparison. You can edit the base rating and divisor fields for your level range.

How to Use This Calculator

  1. Enter the level, role, job name, weapon values, and main attributes.
  2. Add materia values for the planned gear set.
  3. Add food, potion, party buff, and personal buff values.
  4. Choose Skill Speed or Spell Speed as the active speed source.
  5. Set uptime and fight length for a realistic encounter estimate.
  6. Press Calculate to show the result above the form.
  7. Use CSV for spreadsheet work, or PDF for a simple report.

Attribute Planning Guide

Understanding FFXIV Attributes

Attributes decide how a character feels during planning, practice, and raid review. This calculator helps you compare gear choices before you commit tomes, materia, food, or crafted pieces. It does not replace a live parse. It gives a clear planning model for early decisions.

Main Stat and Weapon Power

Main stat is the strongest visible driver for damage and healing. Weapon damage also matters because action potency scales from it first. Vitality is listed because many players still want a fast view of survival value. The tool adds materia, food, potion values, and buffs before building final totals.

Substat Value

Critical hit affects both chance and bonus strength. Direct hit increases the chance of a stronger hit. Determination gives a steady gain to damage and healing. Tenacity is useful for tanks because it can raise outgoing value and reduce incoming damage in this planning model. Piety is shown as a utility score for healers.

Speed Planning

Skill speed and spell speed can change the global cooldown. Faster recasts may add more actions during a fight. The extra actions only help when uptime supports them. For that reason, the form includes uptime and encounter length. A high speed build can look strong in one fight and average in another.

Common Build Checks

Many players start with weapon upgrades, then adjust substats. That order is sensible because weapon power usually changes every action. Next, check critical hit and direct hit balance. Review speed only after confirming rotation comfort. A perfect sheet build can feel poor if it breaks a clean loop. Comfort has value during progression and farm for many regular raid groups.

Practical Use

Use the calculator to compare two gear sets with the same assumptions. Change one group of inputs at a time. Try a food cap, then try a different materia plan. Save the CSV when you need spreadsheet review. Download the PDF when you want a simple report for a static discussion. The score is an estimate, not a promise. Real performance still depends on rotation, buffs, downtime, fight design, ping, and job tuning. For best results, update level constants when new expansions or balance patches change attribute scaling. Keep notes beside each exported result.

FAQs

What does this calculator estimate?

It estimates total attributes, expected hit value, action count, and build score from stats, food, materia, buffs, and fight length. It is a planning guide.

Is this exact for every update?

No. Game formulas and level constants can change. Use the advanced divisor fields to adjust the model when updated scaling becomes available.

Why does role selection matter?

Role selection changes how tenacity is treated. When Tank is selected, tenacity adds outgoing value and mitigation in this planning model.

Should I choose Skill Speed or Spell Speed?

Choose the stat that affects your job and rotation. Physical weaponskills usually use Skill Speed. Many caster actions use Spell Speed.

Why include uptime?

Uptime changes action count. A fast global cooldown only helps when the encounter allows enough time to use extra actions.

Can I compare two gear sets?

Yes. Calculate one set, export it, then change the inputs and calculate again. Compare the CSV or PDF reports.

What is the build score?

The build score is a normalized estimate. It combines potency, weapon power, attributes, buffs, speed, uptime, and expected actions.

Why are advanced constants included?

They let you update the model for different level ranges or future formula changes without editing the main calculation code.
