Formula Used

This page uses an estimate model for planning. It does not claim to reproduce hidden game tables. The model is useful for comparing parent pairs.

Level cap: effective level = min(parent level, 30).

Raw score: tier score + level score.

Tier score: male tier × 31 + female tier × 35.

Level score: male effective level + female effective level, then multiply by 4.2.

Final score: raw score + mastery score + rate score + coat bonus + courser score - exchange penalty - unsafe count penalty.

Mastery score: raw score × mastery percent × 0.14.

Rate score: breeding rate above 16 adds planning value. Lower rate reduces it.

Death penalty: zero. Deaths are kept as notes only.

Probability: the final score is mapped to a center tier. Each possible tier receives a weighted chance around that center.

How to Use This Calculator

  1. Enter the male and female horse tiers.
  2. Enter both levels. Values above level 30 are accepted, but breeding value is capped at 30.
  3. Add breed counts, deaths, mastery bonus, and breeding rate.
  4. Select normal breeding or exchange mode.
  5. Add coat values when you track color theory.
  6. Press Calculate Breeding.
  7. Read the result above the form.
  8. Download the CSV or PDF report for your stable log.

BDO Horse Breeding Planner

Horse breeding in Black Desert Online rewards planning. A strong foal usually comes from good parent tiers, solid levels, and enough breeding count. This calculator gives a structured estimate before you visit the stable keeper. It does not remove game randomness. It helps you compare choices faster.

Why Parent Details Matter

Tier sets the starting strength of each parent. Level adds extra breeding value, especially before level thirty. Training Mastery can improve the chance of a better result. Courser status may add a skill chance for the foal. Breed counts decide if normal breeding is safe. Exchange mode is different. It gives an instant foal, but both parents are lost.

How The Score Helps

The calculator converts parent tier, capped level, mastery, coat balance, and mode into one planning score. Higher scores move probability toward better tiers. The result table splits each tier by gender. It also estimates average tier, top tier chance, imperial steed chance, and silver value. These numbers are planning estimates. Always expect variation in the final game result.

Coat And Color Planning

Horse coats can carry red, white, and black values. Matching strong values may support better coat goals. A balanced pair may also widen possible outcomes. This tool includes coat inputs for players who track color theory. Keep notes after every breed. Your own stable history can guide later choices.

Best Use Cases

Use this page when deciding which mare should breed first. Use it before spending a reset item. Use it when comparing normal breeding against exchange. It is also useful for checking if leveling a horse further may be worth the time. Enter current values, calculate, then export the result. Save the CSV or PDF for your training log.

Final Advice

Level both parents well when possible. Keep the better mare for important attempts. Use mastery buffs before starting the request. Check stable slots, stamina, and breed counts. The best plan still needs patience, because every foal is decided by chance.

Review several pairings before you choose. Small score gains can matter over many attempts. Keep failed results too. They reveal patterns, costs, and training habits that help your next breeding session and stable strategy later with confidence daily.

FAQs

Is this an exact in-game breeding table?

No. It is an estimate tool for planning. It compares tiers, levels, mastery, coats, and method. Actual foals are still controlled by game mechanics and chance.

Why are levels capped at 30?

The calculator accepts levels up to 100 for record keeping. For breeding value, it caps the effective level at 30 to keep the estimate focused on useful breeding progress.

Do horse deaths reduce the result?

No. Deaths are saved as notes only. They do not reduce the score in this model. This keeps older stable records visible without adding a penalty.

What does exchange mode mean?

Exchange mode estimates an instant foal result. It also counts the entered parent values as lost cost, because exchange removes both parent horses.

How does Training Mastery affect the calculator?

Training Mastery adds a controlled score bonus. Higher values push the tier distribution toward stronger outcomes. It is still an estimate, not a guarantee.

What are coat values used for?

Coat values support players who track color theory. Shared dominant values and balanced totals add a small planning bonus. You can leave defaults if unknown.

Can I download my breeding result?

Yes. Use the CSV button for spreadsheet records. Use the PDF button for a clean report that can be saved with your stable notes.

What is upgrade chance?

Upgrade chance is the estimated chance that the foal tier will be higher than the best parent tier. It helps compare risky pairs quickly.
