Formula Used

Calories per minute = MET × 3.5 × weight in kg ÷ 200.

Gross calories = calories per minute × running time in minutes.

Net calories = (MET − 1) × 3.5 × weight in kg ÷ 200 × time.

Adjusted MET = base MET × terrain factor × incline factor × effort factor.

Positive incline adds 2.5 percent effort per incline percent. Downhill values reduce effort gently, with a lower limit for safety.
